ExecutiveWomens.Net matches candidates and member Companies wishing to create a board. Most of these boards are three-member boards.
It is preferable for participants to start the process by forming advisory boards, with no legal or economic responsibilities. This way all decisions are recommendations only, allowing both parties can get acquainted with each other's working style.
The match-making process begins with self-testing and interviewing board applicants to identify their strengths. An analysis of their capabilities is made, and they are matches with suitable companies that have also undergone a similar process to ensure a sustainable and mutually beneficial working relationship is being initiated.
A contract is set up between the individual board member and the company's owner or director, defining roles and expectations.
We closely follow the progress of each company's new board, as well as the individual board members contribution to results. While all companies have potential for high growth, they vary in the challenges they present. Some are start-ups with a roller-coaster ride ahead, others are stable, established companies, with a different set of issues for the board to work with. This is made clear from the outset, so candidates know what to expect.
We have set up an advisory hotline for the practical questions that will come up when establishing and operating a board.
After one year at the board, we hold an assessment with a specialist business psychologist. Board members and the company's management will have a chance to recap what has happened over the past 12 months, creating a big picture view of how all parties are performing and achieving, what might be missing, and how it can be provided for.
The results of this assessment will be valuable in progressing the participants career at her sponsor company.
