The vision for ExecutiveWomens.Net is twofold. Firstly, to realise women's potential in leadership and boards, and secondly, to bring high growth potential companies dramatically closer to their goals.
Our vision has always been to make government-mandated diversity quotas unnecessary. Giving the right support results in an organic increase in women in leadership and board positions.
Our organization has been established to give more women with formal management experience a chance to develop and practice new leadership and board experience in an earlier stage of their career.
Getting seats on boards is the way we get hands-on experience for the candidates. ExecutiveWomens.Net match the candidates with business owners of companies from 1 - 100 million DDK turnover.
There are a group of 875 Danish companies that are legally required to state in their annual reports their metrics and policies for ensuring a more healthy balance of gender. These companies are especially suited for sponsoring their leaders into this program.
Currently there are 1,200 women and 100,000 men in top management (source, Monday Morning), and 30,000 women in a total of 140,000 board seats.
The candidate companies creating these new boards are selected by thoughtful research. We judge them on their business concept, market potential, leadership qualities and financial potential.
The concept was hatched in 2013, and launched in 2015. It was designed by management consultant and author, Peter Horn, in partnership with Major Nina Uller, vice-dean of the Danish Defence Academy. It now has an advisory board of 30 business leaders from a diversity of industries.
